Comp Format
There will be multiple divisions for both Men and Women (this will be determined closer to time based on how many competitors sign up)
There will be 7-8 problems per division
Climbers will attempt as many of the problems in their category as possible, recording attempts, zones and Tops
Zones are new this year
Each problem will have one zone that counts for points, just not as many as a top
Tops must be witnessed by a fellow competitor who must sign off on the send
The top 3 climbers with the most tops in each category will advance to finals
Finals will be semi IFSC style
Final rounds feature 3 boulder problems per division
Competitors must attempt to climb each one within a span of 4 minutes
Scores are earned by the following 2 ways:
Climbing to the Top matching the final hold without falling
Climbing to a designated Zone hold
(There will be 2 zone holds this year to help with ties)
Tops are most important followed by Zones and are calculated below:
Number of Tops
Attempts to Top
Number of Zones
Attempts to Zones
Comp Rules
Tops are earned by completing a problem from start to finish (must match and control final hold)
Problems can only be counted once
You must control the start hold before moving to the next hold
Volumes and outside corners are on
All bolts and bolt holes on the wall are off
If you use a hold or feature that is off-route, no points will be earned
In order to count, your attempts and sends must be witnessed by another competitor
An attempt is anytime your feet leave the ground
The bolt holes in holds themselves are considered “on”, but they can be dangerous, please use at your own risk
A flash counts as a full point, each attempt subtracts points
A flash is finishing the climb on your first attempt
