Boulder League Rules
Divisions will be assigned after the first week of the competition and will be based on the average grade of the climbs you completed.
Points are earned by completing a problem from start to finish (must match and control final hold).
Flashes count for full points, and each attempt subtracts 1 point up to a max deduction of 5 points
Climbing above your Division will earn you up to 25 points (regardless of how much higher) and will only be counted a max of 2 times during the league
Climbing above your Division the 2nd time will bump you to the next division up
Climbing above your Average Grade 3 times a week for 2 weeks in a row will also result in a bump to the next division
Climbing above your division at any point can and will be reviewed by comp staff to assess if the climber should be moved up a division
Getting bumped up is NOT a bad thing! It is a good thing! It means you are getting better.
Climbing below your Division earns 0 points
Pink tape climbs are worth an additional 5 points, and Black tapes are worth an additional 10 points due to the amount of climbs in that range
Problems can only be counted Once per team member
You must control the start hold before moving to the next hold.
Volumes and outside corners are on.
Bolt holes on the wall are always considered off
If you use a hold or feature that is off-route, no points will be earned.
In order to count, your attempts and sends must be witnessed by another competitor
The bolt holes in holds themselves are considered “on”, but they can be dangerous so use at your own risk.
